Who Brought the Chain Saw to Work...

Last night I was watching one of my favorite movies, "Die Hard", and noticed during one scene that the cost of regular unleaded gas was $.79 per gallon. After drying the tears from my eyes I came to the realization that it has been 20 years since John McClane battled terrorists in the Nakatomi Building and gas is now a staggering $4.00 per gallon with little sign of a decline. Since ‘pain at the pump’ is something that we can all relate to, I decided to write an article about how your business can alleviate some of that pain by taking CPR+ into the home office.

Many of you are already taking advantage of our Wide Area Network License, which allows you to connect into CPR+ by accessing your server through technology like Windows Terminal Server or Citrix. If you employ an In-house IT Specialist, he or she already knows what I’m talking about. The magic in this technology is that it extends the use of CPR+ to practically anywhere with a stable Internet connection. Whether you are in a hotel room, airport, or home office; our Wide Area Network License allows you the flexibility to work remotely when you want and where ever you want.

Lady Working at Home

How does this translate value to your organization? Many of our customers are already moving to a four day work week format with one day being reserved for operation in the home office. While you won’t be able to do clean room work or deliveries from your home, you can still accomplish many day-to-day activities without suffering the cost of commuting on the road. How much money does this end up saving you? The math is different for every business depending on how large your staff is and the size of your commute but here’s an interesting fact to keep in mind. The United States Post Office saves $8,000,000 whenever gas decreases by $.01 per gallon. Think of how much your staff could potentially save by reducing the commute by 20 percent (1 day a week).

Over half of our active customer base already has the ability to access CPR+ from home. An investment in our Wide Area Network License and the necessary IT components to get your environment configured could end up saving you thousands per year. Besides…who doesn’t like billing claims and adding new patients to CPR+ in their pajamas?
