Utilizing Customer Assessments in CPR+

When visiting or collecting data from your patients, have you ever thought "I would really like to get ‘this’ information but it's nowhere on the form?" Or, "I wish I could create my own patient questionnaire to fit our needs." Now you can!

With CPR+ Custom Assessments, you can create totally unique assessment tools or questionnaires to collect any type of information you’d like in the form that you’d like it.

Creating a Custom Assessment

To create a Custom Assessment, go to the Databases menu, select Templates and then select Assessments. To add a new question on the fly, click the box with a plus sign in the Available column and follow the prompts. You can create the specific questions / data points you want as well as capture the responses in the format that you want. Each response can be formatted in Yes/No, Essay, Short/Single Word, Multiple Choice or Date/Time formats.

Edit Field

You can also create “Categories” (or groupings within the Assessment) so that questions are displayed and printed in a logical order. In each category, you can create an unlimited number of questions or data points and these will be displayed in the Available column. To select a question for your Assessment, highlight it in the Available column and click the right arrow to move it to the Selected column. If you change your mind, highlight it and click the left arrow to de-select it. You can also change the order of questions in the Selected column with the Up / Down arrows.

The bottom of the Assessment Template includes four signature lines which allow you to decide how many and whose signatures need to be captured and label them as needed.

Disease State Management

So now you see that you can create an unlimited number of custom assessments. In addition, did you know that you can also link a specific assessment to a drug, so that when you get an order for that drug, CPR+ will pull in the appropriate assessment? For example, say you treat a lot of IVIG patients and you want to collect and track specific information on every patient on admission and then every other month. With the CPR+ Disease State Management feature, you can create an IVIG Custom Assessment and link it to all of your IVIG drug items. When you create an order for IVIG, CPR+ will auto-generate the assigned Assessment and create a schedule entry for its initial completion and every other month follow-up. To link a Custom Assessment to a drug, click on the Assessment drop-down under the Disease State Management box on the Clinical Info tab of the Inventory Item.

Be sure to populate the fields for Initial Contact, F/U Frequency, Responsible Department and Assigned to on the Assessment. CPR+ uses these fields to auto-generate the schedule entries for each employee / department responsible for conducting the assessment based on the drug order.

Using Custom Assessments with CPR+ Mobile

All custom assessments created in CPR+ can also be used with CPR+ Mobile, our laptop-based point of care application that allows you to take CPR+ into the field. With CPR+ Mobile, you can perform all sorts of clinical documentation in the field, including updating demographic data, Medication Profiles, POT’s, Care Plans, Progress Notes and Standard or Custom Assessments. All data captured in the field can be quickly synchronized with your main CPR+ system from a secure VPN over the Internet, keeping clinicians in the office up-to-speed and eliminating the need for clinicians to make frequent trips to the office to “drop off paperwork.”

For more information on creating or using Custom Assessments and/or understanding the benefits of CPR+ Mobile, contact the CPR+ Support Trainer today at 877-277-4876.

New Report Library Service Reports

By Ann Porter

Did you know that there are now over 525 unique Crystal and FoxFire! reports in the CPR+ Report Library Service? Yeah - over 525 and I've reviewed them all.

Every week, hundreds of Report Library Service subscribers upload new reports to the Report Library Service. It can be a bit overwhelming--for me and for you. Part of my job as the Report Library Service Manager is to evaluate each new report before publishing it to the library and making it available for download. Obviously, I make sure that it works. I also make sure that we don't already have a similar report in the library and I write the short description and create the .pdf preview. The other part of my job is writing or helping customers write custom reports. Most of these reports also get added to the Report Library.

A few of the recently added reports include:

1) Report FF0399: Patient Census by Therapy Type by Date Range. This report lists all patients who have received a delivery within a user defined date range, grouped by therapy type.

2) Report FF0421: Last Prescription Filled by Physician. Find out if a physician referral source has stopped sending you business by reporting on how long it has been since the LAST Rx was filled that was prescribed by each Physician.

3) Report FF0410: Invoices Billed by Biller. Look at biller productivity with this report which lists all invoices created by a specific biller within a user defined date range.

4) Report FF0423: Open Invoices with no activity in 90 days. Want to reduce DSO? Use this report to find out which claims have had no follow up in the past 90 days.

5) Report FF0389 : Duplicate Drug Inventory Items Report. Use this report to clean up your inventory! It lists NDC#'s that occur more than once in your inventory table.

Literally dozens of new reports get added to the Library every month and you can view them all right now, whether you are an RLS subscriber or not. For more information on this service, feel free to contact me directly via email at ann@cprplus.com.

Employee Profile

Shelly James

What do you think about when you read these words: dedicated, quick learner, eager to solve issues, willing to help? Well they describe Shelly James, our Clinical Team Leader in our Customer Support Department.

Before reaching her current position, Shelly started out as the CSR Administrative Assistant in October 2004. Within three months, we realized we had someone who was quickly learning CPR+ and developing a great relationship with our customers. Based on these qualities and her previous customer service experience, she was promoted to a Level I CSR position. Not one to rest on her laurels, she excelled in this position and was again promoted to a Level II CSR six months later.

When we decided to split the Customer Support Department into Reimbursement and Clinical support teams, Shelly was once again promoted to Clinical Team Leader. With her previous managerial experience and a BA degree in Computer Information Systems, we knew she would be a good fit for this new position.

Shelly currently manages a team of five CSR’s dealing with a variety of clinical and other non-billing support issues. In addition to working with the daily support calls, she handles her Platinum Support Plan Customers and assists in training new hires to the department.

One of the things that she loves about her job is the challenge of solving problems for our customers and working with others on the support team to solve these issues. “I love my job,” she says.

“Another thing about my job that’s great is the chance to interact with customers and gain an understanding of what they do on a daily basis. This helps me become a better support rep,” she states with a smile and hint of satisfaction.

And our customers agree. She and her team are constantly showered with compliments for their performance in quickly resolving support issues. And we agree. Keep up the great work and thank you for a job well done.

NCPDP Test Claim

NCPDP Test Claim IconHave you clicked on the stop light on the CPR+ Toolbar? If you have, then you know that it launches the new NCPDP Test Claim feature added to v8.0. Similar to the E1 Eligibility Check, the NCPDP Test Claim enables you to fire off an NCPDP claim for a patient who may or may not be an active patient, and see if the drug being ordered is covered and, if so, for how much.  Find out your reimbursement and the patient’s co-pay in seconds.

It’s pretty simple. Select the patient and make sure the Payor assigned is setup with an NCPDP invoice type. Next select your Drug and Prescriber and complete a few NCPDP-specific fields. Press <F2> to create the NCPDP claim, edit as needed and click SEND. The whole process should take less than a minute. CPR+ will display the response, automatically log a billing note with all relevant data and reverse the claim. Most customers test claim the initial fill but some even test claim before every refill to be sure of satisfactory reimbursement.

Don’t get stuck dispensing a drug you’re not going to get paid for . . . try the Test Claim today.

CPR+ for HME Webinar Announcement

We’d like to thank the hundreds of customers who responded to our on-line HME survey, first announced two weeks ago in the Weekly Infusion. We received lots of great feedback. It’s clear that many of you provide both IV and HME services and most of you aren’t real thrilled with your current HME system. Congrats to Kris from Adventist Health, winner of the $100 Best Buy gift card.

Because so many of you requested a demonstration of CPR+ for HME, we decided to conduct a Webinar! Give us an hour on Tuesday, January 29th at 2PM EST and we’ll show you the system in action and answer any questions you may have.

Sign up for this FREE presentation now by clicking here!

With CPR+ for HME, you can eliminate the dual entry required when running two different systems for your HME and IV operations. CPR+ for HME is a simplified and streamlined version of CPR+ that adds some great new functionality designed especially for an HME provider. Employees who are focused on the HME aspects of your business can run CPR+ for HME, while IV employees can run the standard version, all sharing patient data, inventory, billing, A/R, etc. If you already own CPR+, there is nothing to buy.

Attend this FREE presentation and get all your questions answered. Sign up today by clicking this registration link.
